Double Ds

It's not a name I use often for Dunkin Donuts, but apparently it's the trend among certain crowds, so what the heck...

I have now been teaching at Danville High School for 3 weeks (my how they've flown?). Some days seem longer than others, but then the weekend comes and I can take it easy, or not...but I digress.

I love DD. I do. I think it's one of the best places to grab a quick inexpensive breakfast. But I've got to admit that not many of them live up to the standards set by my very own Lewisburg DD. For instance, I have been to Danville's DD a few times since school started, and not once have I been completely satisfied with the experience. I think a peanut butter frosted donut is a simple request, I do. I also truly believe that if I ask for a peanut butter frosted donut that that is what the employees at DD should believe that I want, not something that resembles a peanut butter frosted donut with a little extra fru-fru thrown on for flair. But what do I get? Here are a few of the donuts I have received at Danville DD(this is not all in this year obviously):
- pb frosted with chocolate drizzle
- pb frosted with sprinkles
- half pb frosted and half green nasty frosting for either halloween or christmas?
- vanilla frosted with yellow drizzle (no pb in sight)
- pb filled (at least it had pb)
- pb cup (you know, the chocolate heart attack donut with a truckload of pb filling)

But I shouldn't be too hard on them. At least they appreciate the use of peanut butter frosting and filling. There are some DDs, especially north of here, where peanut butter is not even an option. They prefer to offer the gag-inducing maple frosting. (Is it impossible to have these two types of frosting in the same store? Just curious as I've never seen it accomplished)

ANYWAY...Lewisburg DD, I love you.
