the age of milk
no, this is not a blog about sour milk...nasty! i've just succeeded in grossing myself out just by thinking about it.
i've come to the conclusion that roughly 4 out of 5 people in this country that were born before the year 1950 have at one point in their lives milked a cow...not only a cow, but enough cows consistently to say "i used to milk cows." <- more to come on that phrase
i overheard a conversation between my dad and his hearing aid man today (please, hearing aids, come in soon!) in which they both started talking about the days when they milked cows, and it got me thinkin that i've heard similar stories often enough from men their age... now obviously there are younger people today that have or do milk cows, and i applaud them for it, but it seems like back then it was a given...
now about the phrase "i used to..." does that even make grammatical sense? i almost didn't write it, but that is what they say, so... i will be checking it out, though, as it is driving my editor's brain nuts.
