what i missed in gym class

monday was our first softball game of the church league season. we got, for lack of a more appropriate word, killed. i don't remember what the exact score was, but i do know that in the third inning the runs were 15 to 0. i think the final was around 26 to 5. we rock!

i was one of the first to get a run, but it wasn't entirely on the level. after a dash to third base, i heard the base coach telling me to get on the base! i didn't understand why he was so interested in my getting on the base...after all, i made it there before the baseman caught the ball...i was safe, right? apparently not. while i was walking back to the base, the third baseman tagged me and i was out. confused, and upset at my lack of knowledge of the rules of the game, i walked off the field. then i went from upset to embarrassed when everyone called me back and took away the "out". but hey, i got the first run for our team!

i won't make THAT mistake again!
